Congratulations to Amanda Gulbranson who has successfully recredentialed with the College, demonstrating her continuing expertise in mental health pharmacy.
Like many of her peers, Amanda finds it rewarding to be in a role where what she does is valued by, and makes a positive difference to the people (and their carers) that receive healthcare to support their recovery. She empowers individuals to make the best decisions for themselves when medication is a potential treatment option.
Being credentialed by the CMHP, and the subsequent recredentialing process, is not a pre-requisite to delivering high standards of pharmaceutical care in this specialty. However, it sends out a positive message to other professionals and the public that there is a robust structure with required standards for specialist pharmacists to aspire to and achieve through peer review.
Amanda says: “I hope that by becoming and remaining a credentialed member, it demonstrates my commitment to driving forward high practice standards - hopefully inspiring others to do the same, and that I am here to provide peer support to other pharmacists working in this field - new or experienced, as I know that the peer support I receive is invaluable to my continuing practice and expertise.”
She adds: “Being credentialed by the college gives me confidence to know that I am working to a high standard within the specialist area of mental health & learning disabilities, and therefore working to the best of my abilities to deliver patient care and champion the availability and delivery of MH & LD services.”
Assistant Registrar Roz Gittins congratulated Amanda on her achievement saying: “I am delighted that Amanda’s application for recredentialing with the College of Mental Health Pharmacy was approved. She is a valued member of the profession and has demonstrated that her work is of a very high standard.”
Credentialing is our process for assessing members' knowledge and experience; it demonstrates that they are experts in the field of mental health pharmacy. Credentialed members are full members of the College and can carry the post-nominals MCMHP. Credentialed members are invited to recredential every five years.
