We have been working with the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) on a fantastic new learning resource on Mental health: supporting for people living with mental health conditions .
This resource takes the form of A4 reference cards, each covering a specific topic: Depression, Anxiety / generalised anxiety disorder, Psychosis / schizophrenia, Bipolar. Every GPhC registered pharmacy professional should receive their copy of the learning cards this month (October).
In addition to publication of these cards, the CPPE is launching a mental health campaign from 9 October to coincide with World Mental Health day. The campaign has been designed for pharmacy professionals to raise awareness of mental health conditions and looks at how the whole pharmacy team can help support people living with mental health conditions as part of routine practice. There are five weekly challenges to complete and the third week focuses on the mental health card resource.
We are offering a year's membership for those who complete the campaign, so perhaps you could encourage any of your colleagues who are not currently members to take part?
Thank you to the everyone who supported this piece of work through writing or reviewing materials including: Audrey Coker, Ciara Ni Dhubhlaing, Michael Slater, Kuljit Nandhara, Jules Haste, Sarah Elliott, Alan Pollard, and Dorna Ghashghaei.
Feedback on the cards so far as been excellent, with one colleague saying: "the bite sized approach to the latest CPPE resource on Mental Health was excellent. It would help me engage in CPPE written CPD if more were produced like this!"
