New RPS/CMHP joint credentialing process

For several years, the CMHP has been working with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) to develop a joint advanced mental health credentialing curriculum and assessment programme for pharmacists in the UK. In the interim, our existing independent CMHP credentialing and foundation certificate pathways (open to both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the UK or outside the UK) remain in place.

The joint credentialing between the RPS and CMHP will start 2 years from the launch of the RPS credentialing electronic e-portfolio which is estimated to go live March 2025. Between 2025-2027 the RPS/CMHP credentialing pathway or the stand alone CMHP credentialing pathway will run side by side. Two years after this - from March 2027 - pharmacists within the UK will only be able to follow the joint RPS/CMHP credentialing pathway. Pharmacists from outside of the UK and pharmacy technicians (within or outside of the UK) can continue to still credential via the existing standalone CMHP credentialing pathway described on this website.
