As an organisation, we are dedicated to developing the expertise of individuals through education and sharing of best practice. We also work with others to ensure that our expertise in mental health pharmacy is used in ways that can improve outcomes for people with mental health conditions - in consultations, accreditation and medicines advice.
- Credentialing
We recognise the professional achievements of our members through our credentialing programme. Any associate member of the College can apply for full (credentialed) membership when they reach an expert level of working, attained through practical experience, which can be combined with academic achievement. Expert level of practice is assessed by submitting a portfolio of evidence and sitting a viva.
- Consultations
The College is regularly invited to participate in consultations seeking an expert view from specialists in mental health and/or pharmacy. This includes consultations run by NICE, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
- Accreditation and partnership
We are involved in accrediting education material and resources for a number of partners.
We have an established relationship with Young Minds, and provide valuable input into the medicines information accessed via their Headmeds website.
- Our Awards and bursaries scheme is also a means for celebrating and developing expertise, and we have a Fellowship scheme for exceptional service in the field of mental health pharmacy.
