There are many reasons to join the CMHP. These are our top 3:
- Community – we are a friendly, supportive group of professionals. We offer peer support and discussion through our groups.io email group and online resources in the members’ section of our website. Whatever your level of experience, you can seek advice and guidance on medicines, unusual side effects and other clinical matters, and management and policy matters. Our members are very willing help each other, to share their experiences and to encourage best practice.
- Discounts for education events – your membership gives you discounts on our education courses (for example Psych 1 and Psych 2) and our renowned international conference.
- Updates on developments in mental health pharmacy – our monthly enewsletter Psych Bites, and other occasional mailings keep you informed about some of the latest developments in the sector.
These benefits are available to all associate, student and full members of the College.
Associate members may apply to become full member of the College, which requires them to go through our credentialing process. Credentialing recognises the expertise of experienced specialist mental health pharmacists, and allows use of the post-nominals MCMHP. Read more about the benefits of credentialing.
CMHP also offers awards and bursaries for members, and career development opportunities (for example, getting involved in NICE consultations, or giving sessions at conferences or events).
Your membership will help CMHP continue its work with other agencies to influence policy and practice, and to raise the profile of mental health pharmacy nationally and internationally.
