We are happy to announce three more of our members have successfully re-credentialled with the College:
- Michaela Cox, Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
- Chris Hall, Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust
- Alistair Tait, Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust
Credentialling is the process by which pharmacists can demonstrate their expertise in the specialist field of mental health. They submit a portfolio of work and sit a viva. Credentialled members are recredentialled every five years by demonstrating evidence of their continuing professional development and expert practice.
All three members have been congratulated by CMHP Registrar Ciara Ni Dhubhlaing who says: "It was a pleasure to review the portfolios. I was impressed by the varied and reflective nature of the continuing professional development they demonstrated."
Re-credentialled members are invited to tell us a bit about their role, what they find rewarding, and what they value about their full membership of CMHP (as a credentialled member).
Alistair Tait, who is a Medicines Safety Officer in Sheffield, says: "My most rewarding role is patient safety and the prevention of medicine related harm. Engagement with patients discussing treatment options and patient choice remains equally rewarding."
Chris Hall, Deputy Director of Pharmacy, also in Sheffield, says: "Becoming a College member (10 years ago) was a recognition that I'd achieved a thorough broad working knowledge of use of medicines in mental health. Recredentialling is an external acknowledgement that I'm still achieving that as my practice and role develops."
We encourage all Associate Members to consider applying for full, credentialled membership. Anyone interested in applying for the first time should email Ciara at [email protected].
